LET’S MOVE FORWARD, NOT BACKWARD!

We must protect the unique character and historic nature of our community while managing the growth we already see.

We can leverage this growth to reduce the property tax burden for our seniors, repair our failed city streets, improve public transportation, build more workforce housing, and make our city more affordable.

We already have a road map for this. The Envision Taylor Comprehensive Plan provides a robust framework to build and maintain a vibrant, resilient community.

If Taylor voters choose to elect a reactionary majority, we risk losing all the work we’ve done over the last decade to make our community more sustainable and inclusive.

BOLD PROPOSAL
We all know that the hottest political topic in Taylor today has to do with
the condition of our streets. It’s what I hear every time I talk to voters.

Despite what my opponents say, I do understand that addressing the
condition of our streets is the most important issue on the minds of
voters. And it’s not lost on me that my detractors don’t have a plan of
their own.

We can fix our streets if we really want to. A $100 million voter-approved
bond issue, phased in over four years, would let us address
the worst streets in town and help us get ahead of the deferred street
maintenance problems that have plagued us for decades.

This would cause a tax increase, of about $60 after the first year. By the
fourth year, the bond would cost the average homeowner $400 a year
in additional property taxes, based on current tax levies and taxable
home values. Your mileage WILL vary. See details here.
(Assumes a taxable value, after exemptions, ot$250,000.)
